Matt Graham takes out silver in mens moguls

In case you were hiding under a rock and missed it… Australia won its first PyeongChang 2018 medal last night when Matt Graham claimed silver in the men’s moguls!

Snowboarder Holly Crawford also made her fourth Olympic appearance in the ladies snowboard halfpipe qualification.

She was joined by first time Olympian and Youth Games silver medallist Emily Arthur.

With her parents in the crowd, the rookie came through with the goods, qualifying 8th in the 12 woman decider. She landed a clean second run with a score of 66.5.

Already Emily is being pegged as the next Torah Bright. She finished ahead of some of the halfpipe greats in the ladies field, including Arielle Gold and 2002 Games gold medallist Kelly Clark, as well as our own Holly who narrowly missed out on a finals spot.

Lots of positive vibes and buzz continuing today as we head into Day 4 with halfpipe finals and qualifications and cross country skiing.

At 10am today, you can find Emily back in the pipe at 10am (midday AEDT) today in the women’s final.
After the girls do their thing, Australian flagbearer Scotty James will make his third Olympic appearance.

Donning his signature XTM Boxing gloves when he lines up in the men’s snowboard halfpipe qualification runs from 1pm (3pm AEDT), alongside Kent Callister and Nate Johnstone. The boys will be looking for top 12 finishes to secure their place in Wednesday’s final showdown.

Cross Country
Making her Olympic debut, Casey Wright will compete in the women’s Cross Country Skiing Sprint Classic, with Jess Yeaton and Sochi Olympian Aimee Watson in the 1.4km dash. Qualification rounds kick off at 5.30pm (7.30pm AEDT).
Sochi Olympian Phil Bellingham will wear the green and gold for the men’s 1.5km Sprint. Qualification, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals will all be held during the evening in front of a pumping crowd at the Alpensia Cross Country Centre
